Churchyard

A sacred space where memory and nature meet.
St Laurence Churchyard is a place of peace, remembrance, and life.

Set high on the hill overlooking Alvechurch village, Rowney Green, and the rolling Worcestershire countryside, St Laurence Churchyard is a sacred place of remembrance, peace, and natural beauty. Spanning over two acres, it offers a tranquil space for grief, reflection, and connection—with both the past and the land.

Within the churchyard, you’ll find many interesting memorials, two of which are Grade II listed for their historical significance (we are currently confirming these—more details to follow soon). Every headstone tells a story, held within a setting rich in life.

This is not only a place of memory but also a haven for wildlife. The churchyard is home to a wonderful variety of trees, plants, birds, and insects, making it a valuable and vibrant ecological space. We treasure this diversity and are actively working to care for the land in ways that nurture both biodiversity and beauty.

In this section of the website, we invite you to explore how we hold these two values together:
– Honouring loved ones with respect and care
– Cherishing creation through thoughtful, environmentally-minded stewardship
